Cascades DH - 30-01-2011

KZN Greg Minnar - Mongoose DH cup - Round 1

With the World Cup MTB on the horizon, the local downhillers descended onto the new Cascades track in Pietermaritzburg to check out some of the sections to be used for the big international event.  Racing was close on the short and technical track, which has definitely stepped up in the difficulty ratings.  The rocks and soft sand sections caught out a number of the riders, with plenty of spectacular crashes throughout the day.

In the end, Travis Browning took a well deserved win over Tim Bentley in second and junior Tiaan Odendaal in third overall, whilst taking the win in the junior category.
